3D Printer Bed Mesh Generation Will NEVER Be The Same - Eddy v.s. Beacon
It's official: scanning is the new probing. In this video I take a look at the new eddy current bed scanning probe from BigTreeTech, aptly named Eddy, comparing it to the existing solutions as well as its closest rival: Beacon. I provide an overview of the device, the technology behind it, and a comprehensive installation and setup guide.

FLSun S1 First Look - Bambu Lab FINALLY Has Real Competition
Просмотров 78 тыс.21 день назад
The FLSun S1 is here and it's packed with potential. On paper, this printer is twice as fast as the current market leader: the Bambu Lab X1C. With marketing claims of 40,000 mm/s^2 acceleration, 1200 mm/s print speeds, and 110 mm^3/s flow, can it really live up to the expectations? In this video I take a first look at this promising printer. Today’s sponsor (PCBWay): www.pcbway.com Subscribe to...

The Panda Revo brings the convenience and versatility of the Revo ecosystem to the Bambu P1 and X1 series printers. With this upgrade, switching between bigger and smaller nozzles becomes a trivial task. According to BigTreeTech this hotend is capable of 40 mm^3/s of flow with the included 0.4 mm nozzle, which is double that of the stock hotend. But is it really? And do we even NEED that much f...

A Pre-Built Voron Stealthburner !? Install and Setup on Troodon 2.0
9:50 minecraft dog bark
You are wrong about anything over 15mm3/s being diminishing returns.. I but over 3 hours off my print time using filament I maxed out at 30mm3/s over a different brand using 16mm3/s
The new LDO nitehawk-36 usb toolhead board has a usb expansion port for a probe to plug into, so you dont have to run a separate cable. Unfortunately the nitehawk-sb (two piece stealthburner toolhead style) didn't get the port. Also the beacon D is a little cheaper then the beacon H at only $65 if you don't want the adxl345 accelerometer that's built in. Which you might not considering a few tool head boards already have them integrated like the nitehawk, btt SB2240, ebb36/42 or if you have a bed slinger and need the sensor to be movable from the hotend to the bed.
OK so these are (a little) quicker than an inductive probe and about as accurate. I'm sticking with inductive with Voron Z END-STOP, at least for now :)
ABS on a non enclosure printers is just wrong. The print Probably has no strength.
That's what I thought bambu lidar marketing cues was about at first
Thank you Faraday and Lenz for making it possible to get the Eddy "probe" invented.
Update: xTool has added a new feature to the S1 that allows you to take a picture with your phone to make positioning of your designs easier when doing batch production.
I love the video, but you have two tools to do the same job here. Either get rid of the weight/flex of TAP, or just use TAP to map your bed. There's zero reason for both, and the smarter play would have been to utilize beacon solo.
how do you deal with cooling on petg supports with pla ? my petg dose not stick with pla
Looks like ratrig..
Price?
Best support for PETG I’ve found is HIPS with a 0.1mm gap. I haven’t tried it with ABS, but presumably that could work just as well with PETG.
can you do an updated version of the troodon 2.0 pro
I want to buy one, but FSL sells is pretty annoying/bad, if i want a elegoo or creality product i just enter aliexpress and buy that thing. FLS digital stores are so bad, hope they invest in that. Thats why most of ppl i know from 3d printing never even put they eyes on a delta printer, they should work in logistic.
Each day we're closer and closer to downloading a car.
Or you could pay attention to the printer like everyone else
Why did you side-mount it? It fits right into the probe space behind the printhead on the mgn mount! Love my Eddy, best thing added to 3d printing since heated beds.
I’m using Tap, so no mounting position for a probe.
@@ygk3d I gotcha. That's why I went with the USB Eddy, to do the Z homing. I had to widen the wiring channel a little with my dremel, but it fits! Tap looks like a nice light/strong mount.
@@ygk3d ...also, I should have watched 100% before commenting. Doh! LOL
yOOOO
That's cool! I would like to use Eddy on my printer, but maybe my use case is a bit weird. I want to generate a mesh that I can view and adjust the bed leveling manually. Although it could still be used for compensation, I think that if I can make it more level and flat physically and reduce the compensation - it would be good. I have an EasyThreeD K9, which is a very cheap printer, and I am modding the hell out of it. Some may have seen a video on such subject, but my modding might be a bit more relaxed. No Klipper, no Octoprint, stock ET4000+ motherboard and customized Marlin 2 firmware. Do you think this will be possible to make?
我看过一个这台设备8分钟打印小船的视频,说实话质量确实不高。如果降低速度以提高质量,那我为什么不用x1c呢?😊
idk man all i want is multi color man print
Why are the printers so damn ugly? 80-90's plastic And that filament change routine has the just enough jank to remind me why I dont just buy a printer because of a spec list. The actual user experience on top of the tech has to match.
one filament option lmao. They are going in the wrong direction...
But why brother? You don’t care about our planet and would rather waste all this plastic that’ll inevitably become landfill? 😢 nah I’m kidding bro, we all waste so much material it’s insane haha
Would this work with a single toolhead?
Theoretically, yes, but shouldn’t be necessary.
Now do .4mm outer and .8 mm inner prints, for speed savings
You can’t just fling these market numbers around
You can cancel a object in the app
How is this in any way better than a strain gauge sensor? It’s more expensive, heavier, bigger, more complex, and less accurate. Save your money and get just about any other solution.
#2 is half moot. You can skip objects in the app. I wish it was on the interface as well and I agree on the other points!
Don't buy this. My filament gets stuck everytime in the blue block. I loved it on my other printers, but it's a dud for bamboo if you ask me.
In light of the costs I have had to endure for replacement toolhead parts from the wear and tear of changing nozzles on Bambu the Revo would probably have been a cheaper way to go.
Can this be used on the ender 3 S1 ???
As long as it runs Klipper and has a metallic bed it should work.
Already ordered a Panda Touch, haven't installed it yet
Prusa just too expensive for me
Do you have the stl for the corner covers for the troodon 2.0? You were popping blue ones in the video. I have looked everywhere for the stl.
If you email Formbot they’ll send you the STL for the injection molded version. I found that the pins were too thin for 3D printing and broke when I tried to install them. A modified version suitable for 3D printing is available on my Patreon.
I'm sticking with my BLTouch while I wait for the laser rangefinder method that scans the bed while traveling at 500 mm/s, and achieves a resolution in tens of nanometers.
If you ever use a glass or garolite bed you will waiting tens of centuries. Besides, who needs resolution in tens of nanometers?
These stats mean nothing to everyday printing though. Especially if you print in PETG, TPU or anything non high flow PLA.
Excellent ~ I'm hooked! New sub & liked - thank you!
And what use is the Prusa Tire? Looks like a waste of material, time and electricity.
youtube comments are always soo grumpy and negative. Its his money so who cares? Its just a wacky experiment.
You forgot Bed Distance Sensor
Laser scanning is still the most accurate and reliable scanning method. @01:37 Claiming that this might be the last bed probe you might need to buy just shows this guy don't know what he's talking about.
I wish there was something like the Eddy to upgrade from BLTouch on an older printer.
Ams + small size to fit anywhere
I think many don’t get that Bambus are popular not simply because they are fast but is a combination of being reliable, have a working multi material system and is decently quick all in a streamlined package.
Never had any luck with BTT stuff. Their MiniE3V3 came flashed for something else, No firmware was listed for the Ender 5 Plus and Chris's set up didnt seem to work for me, Is it because im in the UK??? I got a shop to set it up, took three of their technicians 6 weeks to get a proper print, but it lost its home position all on its own and destroyed a brand new PEI bed and Spider hot end about three prints in. The Manta M8P and SP1 screen wouldnt work right on the Ender either, The Pad 7 wouldnt connect to my home system, had to buy extra routers to get it to connect but the Klipper part wouldnt update so it went back in the box. How can i be so unlucky to get all their faulty stuff??? Im not a programing wiz but the guys in the shop are and theyve told me not to bring them anymore BTT to set up. This stuff brought me one thing, Depression..... and a empty wallet from having to pay people who know to set it up without any real success. Im sorry i cant give them a big up but why would I. My No good Fancy tat box is nearly full.
BTT certainly has some ground to make up in the manuals department and explaining what products are compatible with which products. But over all for me? The stuff works pretty good. I had issues with an HDMI screen and they asked for some very simple tests to be done then sent a replacement. Both my voron's run m8pv2's and CB1's CANbus toolhead boards. Ones at 2k hours ones at 1k. I think they just released a new manta, or maybe it was a CB?, that supports SP1. I don't think the older models did. I could be wrong on that but pretty sure I seen it in a recent tradeshow video on Nero's channel. Hoping next gen of m8p's have the SKSM's built in because this whole data corruption on powerloss is a huge oversight for bother Klipper and Control boards. Save a lot of people a lot of time.
Hi Taylor. Thinking about buying one of the pro minis. What are the assembled printer dimensions? The dimensions on the website seem too big. 500+x500+mm for a 250x250mm build plate. Thanks.
I'm impatiently waiting for more content and opinions on this machine. 😅
The trouble with being skint, You save for months to buy a new Bambu s1 and someone brings out something better... that you cant afford. Or have space for now lol.
